Tofu gets the spotlight in this smoky, nutty, herb-packed dish. Coated in a tangy blend of sumac, sesame paste, and turmeric, then grilled or pan-seared to caramelized perfection, these sticks are served warm or room temp with dipping sauce. Even tofu skeptics will ask for seconds.

Directions
DO THIS
Rinse and cut tofu into thick sticks, about 1" thick and 4" long. Press as much liquid out while you prepare the marinade.
Place all ingredients (except oil) into blender or food processor. Pulse until all is combined and almost smooth. Set aside 1/4 cup for dipping.
Pour rest of marinade over tofu and coat well. Let sit for 30 minutes.
Set pan on medium-high heat. Lightly oil pan with 1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Pan-sear (or skewer tofu and grill over prepared coals) until sauce is caramelized (about 2-4 minutes). Serve room temp or warm with dipping sauce and fresh sliced cucumbers.
